The hardest working, driven and organized person I know!

Olivia Hoffman was a student of mine in the Capstone course of the Granite State College (GSC) Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) program. The program requires that students apply the learning objectives in each course in the program to a case study that is a real-world project of their choosing. Under ideal circumstances, a typical student plans the project during nine of the courses in the program and brings it to completion during the Capstone. The culmination of this course is to present this project at an event where students from all the graduate programs present the results of their research or project. Olivia needed to change her project as she began her capstone course, which required that she produce all the documentation from all the courses for her project during the term as well as complete the assignments specific to the course itself. Also, Olivia completed all the work in a shortened summer session, while balancing her career and family. Olivia exhibited the highest standards expected of a graduate student. Her assignments always met high levels of expectation, exhibiting her understanding of and ability to apply key learning objectives both to her course work and her project with her employer. She was very enthusiastic about her project throughout the course. Olivia frequently demonstrated the ability to apply the learning objectives not only to course assignments but also to her own work. Her participation in discussion forums demonstrated competence in analyzing learning topics, communicating with her peers, and learning from others’ discussions. I remember Olivia most particularly for her ability to manage stakeholders. She attended the capstone event of the term prior to her participation in the course and introduced herself to me to begin building a relationship with me. She communicated frequently during the course to ensure success with her project and her presentation. All in all, Olivia was an excellent student and I highly recommend her in any project management or leadership position.
