  I served as the Summer Base Camp Manager for the Fort Smith Children's Shelter and GetREAL24 from June 2020-August 2020 as a paid intern through the United Way of Fort Smith Area and the Tyson Summer Community Internship Program. In this role, I planned and executed a four-week summer program to provide 20 foster youth ages 14-17 preparing to age out of care with the skills and support necessary to be self-sufficient and successful. I collaborated with the GetREAL24 program coordinator to plan life skills courses and team building activities and arranged job shadowing and networking opportunities with area business leaders and local and state government officials for our camp participants. Additionally, I recruited and managed volunteers, coordinated all transportation needs for camp participants, created a unique report and program evaluation following the end of camp, and effectively adapted the program to meet all COVID-19 restrictions.
