Branches is McGill's undergraduate environmental journal. As the design editor, I am responsible for compiling the submissions into a layout. This meant designing the cover and selecting themes, fonts and other various design elements. This role required communication with the other editors, especially the editor in chief in order to produce a well-balanced edition of the journal. Administrative Intern
-
May 2019 - Aug 2019
ZTGH is an insurance defence law firm. I was mainly involved in assisting lawyers regarding LAT cases (License Appeal Tribunal). As an administrative intern, it was my job to streamline the process of taking on new cases for the lawyers. This meant receiving, uploading and briefing incoming files. I was also in charge of drafting summaries, case conferences and responses for lawyers. Once documents were edited and finalized, I served, filed, faxed or emailed them depending on their use. This role required extreme organization as there were many critical due dates and tasks to coordinate. Additionally, I helped to organize and collect information to build a precedent bank. I also attended a mediation where I was in charge of video.

St. Albans Summerhill Boys & Girls Club is a weekly after school program for children aged 7-13. The program operated twice a week at Cottingham Junior Public School. I initially worked as a volunteer leader for two years until I was offered a paid position as a head staff member in 2018. My role involved planning and leading various sports, games and events, and ensuring the safety of participants at all times. I also took on a mentorship role, teaching the volunteers about how to be a successful leader of the club.

I began as a volunteer instructor for Alpine Ski Club in 2015, and after earning my CSIA Level 1 Instructor certification became a paid instructor. I taught children aged 3 to 6 in the 8-week Mini Mountaineer program. During this time, I formulated various lesson plans involving techniques, drills and games. It was my responsibility to keep my group of children safe, engaged and active. I also act as a mentor to assistant instructors who were either new or volunteers looking to get certified. I provided them with advice and teaching tips on how to manage a class and avoid conflicts successfully.
