NEOL Center is a leisure center offering various creative and educative activities for young children. The particularity of that center is that it is specialized and adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, more precisely mental and psychiatric disabilities such as emotional disorders or autism. Learning about people with disabilities is totally different from working by their side as they cannot be categorized and should all be differentiated from one another. They each have their triggers which is why it is primordial to get to know each of them individually. This job offered me a great opportunity to get a strong sense of understanding, learn how to communicate according to each individual, and finally helped me gain valuable life experiences. Show less

Being a dance teacher for kids and teenagers was my first job. Thinking it would simply and solely be an occasion for me to exercise one of my artistic passions. I, first followed a formation on pedagogy in order to understand how to keep my lessons organized but fun and educative. I started to understand over time that, even though this formation helped me comprehend what I should expect, the best way to learn was by trying, innovating new techniques, and getting feedback from the parents and their children. As a dance teacher, currently, only in my free time, I learned to communicate effectively, lead a group of people of all ages and different personalities, innovate and propose creative yet experimental exercises. Moreover, this experience gave me the freedom to lead my student to a final representation, permitting them to have a long-term objective and work toward a particular goal under my supervision.
