    • Operations Manager
      • Jan 2011 - Dec 2015

I have developed an all round understanding of the company and the in's and out's of the Alternative Water Supply and Emergency Response industry since starting with Water Direct in 2003 - much of which has been pioneered by Water Direct and the procedures we have developed over the years.Growing with the business like this led me to design and implement a bespoke database system to monitor company assets and quality trails. This quickly evolved to become a tool which now runs the entire day to day operation of the company, from new enquiries and contacts, through to invoicing. Taking much of the laborious and time consuming manual record keeping out of the picture not only saves valuable time, but also increases our business resilience - the running of the company can now be undertaken from any available internet connection.Alongside Operations management, I continue to take part in the Duty Manager rota ensuring that time critical contractual obligations are met during Emergency response requests. It's this level of response which helps to guarantee a continual and assured water supply throughout the UK. My greatest challenge to date has been the London Olympic Games in 2012. Whilst providing tankered water supplies to nearly every one of the Olympic venues during the main games and Paralympic games, Water Direct also provided safe drinking water supplies for >3,000 personnel at the Security Accommodation village. Managing all this while maintaining our regular business without interruption provided me with great experience in up-scaling resources in a short timeframe. I continue to provide focus and guidance on new business streams and innovations to ensure Water Direct stay ahead of the competition and maintain our industry pedigree. Always looking to go one step further. Show less

    • Asset Manager
      • Jan 2007 - Jan 2011

Having spent 4 years learning the business from the ground up and instigating several areas of improvement I continued my progression to Asset Manager becoming responsible for the preparedness of all Water Direct and Client assets. This position further enabled me to implement improvements to Water Direct systems and procedures, the most notable of which was to create an Asset Database for monitoring the 'life' of each and every vessel Water Direct operates. It is this sort of detail which sets Water Direct aside from other 'drinking water vessel' providers. We can see every deployment, disinfection, sample and item of maintenance relating to each asset operated by Water Direct. A great boone for our clients who are subject to auditing by the DWI in respect of Emergency Water Supply provisions. Whilst in this role, I also became a Water Direct 'Duty Manager' - on call to answer any emergency calls 24/7. Show less
