Oliver is a very creative guy, his mind is constantly boiling with ideas and concepts capable of challenging both his great technical skills and the viewers expectations. In The Hague, where we met, he developed some great work. Not only the pieces that got to be exhibited but also those crafts that never made it public. Meanwhile, in our spare time, Oliver also managed to reveal himself as a fairly good cooker (specially omelets)...

Oliver is an exceptionally talented and thought provoking artist. He is doing some of the most interesting video work I have seen. His unique use of scale and presentation as well as the video images themselves sets his work far above others in the field. Truly exciting work!

20th February 2008. My video work was curated by Vasileios Balaskas and shown at the BFI Southbank NFT, Eat Our Shorts festival. "Oliver Gardiner in 'Floor Study #3', seems to interrogate the protean male physicality. As the boy of the video performs the gymnastic exercise, his accomplishment is celebrated and refuted instantly. The over-accentuation of his achievement through the multiply points of view is, perhaps, an evidence of doubt." -Vasileios Balaskas 20th February 2008.
