My job involved engaging with young people on a regular basis, networking with other organisations and officials and through these sources, improve the local area, and ultimately to help bridge the gap between young people and the wider community, through the breakdown of stereotypes and showcasing of positive work of young people.   The aim of this project was to create a world class youth hub, both self-sustainable in terms of financing and open to all, as a way of breaking down the barriers between young people and the wider community. We chose St Mary In the Castle as our beacon of hope. A run-down dated church, used for centuries, and cherished by many locally, and our goal was to renovate and completely refurbish this space so that it was once again world class, as it once was. This project was eventually closed by the MP, Tim Loughton, despite having achieved so many things. Show less
