4 week paid internship with Origination and IDT team: - Worked on 4 live projects, producing 3 factsheets, 1 cashflow model with a capital structure, including sources and uses, and investment IRR. - Produced 1 initial review paper for a project to be presented at an initial committee to decide on whether to go ahead with the project. - Attended Teams calls with the sell side advisors and management of 2 projects to ask questions about the IM, VFDD, VCDD. - Shadowed the Strategic Credit and Senior Loan Fund Portfolio Managers for 2 days to learn about the fund excel model, carry model, and an introduction to fund finance. - Went through Pemberton’s excel credit model with a Credit Analyst to learn how to extrapolate financials from management’s business plan to produce a cash flow model. Was then walked through how to introduce certain scenarios into said cash flow model to produce a base case and downside case to access investment risk. The experience was a massive learning experience improving on my accounting, excel, and interpersonal skills.
