On behalf of Reshopper, I was lucky enough to meet and hire Oliver (and one of his classmates) as student developers for Reshopper. Since then, Oliver was hired full time. I've never seen anyone fresh out from studying with no prior experience learn so quickly. In less than a few weeks, Oliver was ready to start working on ordinary tasks. In less than a few months, he was fluent in more advanced concepts such as general design patterns and their use, clean code and SOLID principles. In addition, he became familiar with and accustomed to working with TypeScript and React on the frontend side, where he converted a legacy jQuery and Bootstrap based administration system consisting of many years of development, to a React app. On the backend side, he has become accustomed to C#, Docker, Mongo, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch. In addition, he knows how to use JWT tokens to make a backend stateless for horizontal scaling, and much more. On the devops side, he has learned how AWS and general cloud services work, how to operate with and use Elastic Beanstalk and associated services. In addition, he has a good high-level overview over how CDNs like Cloudflare and load balancers like AWS ALBs work. In addition to solving a lot of roadmap tasks, Oliver seems to care about the future of the software he works on. He's actively working on technical debt, and it is clear that his high curiosity and patience for learning how things work, is how he evolves so quickly. On the personal side, Oliver has good humor and is fun to be around. In addition, it is clear that he cares about his colleagues, and their wellbeing. I am genuinely excited to see where Oliver will be in 10 years, and I look forward to following it.
