1. Championed Thought Leadership at The Innovation Village through curating a series of webinars during the lockdown period, facilitating discussions with key players in the ecosystem e.g. startups, development partners and corporates to raise awareness about the opportunity spaces COVID-19 presented for industry. 2. Led a team of 4 to conduct in depth market research about the effect of COVID-19 on the retail sector on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Uganda that culminated into a report launch with key stakeholders from the taxation authority, private sector, startups and the media. Additionally, these insights were used to curve out new business frontiers for The Innovation Village to serve the market. 3. Co-designed The Innovation Village Fellowship Program as a pilot talent development initiative to prepare fresh graduates for the Future of Work. Over 6 months, 16 fresh graduates obtained mentorship, soft skills and on the job training on real business challenges, with the successful retention of expectional Fellows as Junior Associates for the organisation.

1. Developed the 4D methodology, a framework adapted by the corporate innovation team to 'make innovation tangible' through educating the market about the use cases for innovation, business development and community building, co-creation and customization of fitting solutions.2. Nurtured and led a team of 7 to design and implement various open innovation programs to aid startup-corporate collaboration through Demo Days, innovation events, sector labs and Challenge Driven Accelerators. Some of the projects and partners include:a) Disruptive Agriculture Technologies (Agriculture): sponsored by the World Bank for Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) b) Hack Una Matata (Tourism and Education): sponsored by Enabel Uganda for Kampala Innovation Week 2019c) Innovate for Agriculture (Agriculture): sponsored by United Nations Capital Development Fund for Mukwano, NUCAFE, Welthungerhilfe and MTN Ugandad) MTN Startup Program (Open APIs): sponsored by MTN Uganda for digital payments in Transport, HORECA and FMCG. 3. Led a design team and facilitated intraprenuership programs to support corporates ardent on fostering a culture of innovation through ideation, business design, co-creation workshops and innovation advisory.a) Supported Uganda Development Bank innovation team with the Ideas Program to develop selection criteria, vetting and selection of top ideas that were rewarded. b) Co-designed and facilitated a 3-day design workshop for Standard Bank Group to design a platform that would connect different agriculture players such as farmers, aggregators, input providers, industrial clients and their local subsidiary (Stanbic Bank). The insights led to the launch of the One Farm Program. 4. Contributed to the refinement of the Enterprises & Ecosystems Co-Design Summit(CDS) curriculum and activities for East African startups participating in the MIT ScaleUps Fellowship Program 2019.

Conducted market research to build use cases on the application of innovation to deliver value for the ecosystem through Challenge Driven Accelerators. a) Hack for Refugees (Refugee crisis): sponsored by United Nations Capital Development Fund, Danish Church Aid and Mercy Corps.b) Hackathon for Blockchain Association of Uganda: Supported the team with development of selection criteria, vetting the startups and pitch preparation ahead of the Africa Blockchain Conference.2. Identified industry trends to build growth strategies and developing business models for The Innovation Village and startups to have a competitive edge in the market. For example, developed a market entry strategy for Fonbnk, a 2020 Inclusive Fintech50 awardee that enables its customers to buy, redeem, or share prepaid mobile airtime credit at the lowest prices globally.3. Conducted knowledge sharing sessions from the Village Capital Communities (VCC) to empower the team to gain a deeper understanding of investment readiness framework (VIRAL by Village Capital) to design relevant entrepreneurial support programs4. Was part of the proposal writing team for the Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works project, aimed at enabling 3 million young people in Uganda to access dignified work over the next 10 years.5. Was part of the team that conceptualized the annual Kampala Innovation Week (KIW) event that converges various players e.g. government, private sector, investors, startups and academia to celebrate, exhibit and unlock opportunities entrepreneurship and innovation bring for socioeconomic transformation. The initiative is now anchored by UNCDF and Startup Uganda, an Association converging different innovation hubs across the country to strengthen the ecosystem through skills and talent development, raising capital and establishing strategic partnerships.

Network Engineer (Intern)

1. Analyzed the company’s servers to detect unusual events using Splunk and logged data for further investigation. Set up and configured CISCO switches and routers to securely log and authenticate data from the network servers. 2. Updated the network blueprint of the company’s internal and external grid; such as the Brisbane Airport and the Hilton, Gold Coast so the engineers would allocate network resources more effectively. 3. Prevented unauthorized access and attacks on the company’s network by configuring ACLs. Furthermore, configuring spanning trees assisted with optimization of the company’s vast network thus preventing network failure.
