Responsible for all aspects of mostly manual and some automated testing of a large, highly complex J2EE Web based Enterprise software product. Primary duties include: Creating, documenting and executing test plans and test cases; set up of test environments such as various versions of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 Sun JDKs, Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat and Cygwin, deployment and light administration of Weblogic 8.1 and 9.2, Websphere 6.0 and 6.1 and Tomcat 5.5 App Servers; extensive work with Oracle 8, 9 and 10g databases using SQL Plus and Toad; writing simple SQL queries; working with Windows and Cygwin to emulate Linux; creating and managing bugs using Bugzilla bug tracking system; development of automated test scripts using Mercury QTP versions 8 and 9 (light, just a few months); working with development teams throughout all phases of the development lifecycle from requirements specification to customer delivery and maintenance; maintaining test documentation using CVS and SubVersion. Responsible for testing new software features for upcoming releases as well as for patches to existing software versions deployed by various clients. Since patches are usually fixes to bugs reporting by the MCA strategic consulting group as well as by QA departments at major clients such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, Cisco and other large corporations with highly diverse software and hardware environments, patches have been occupying increasing portion of my work effort. Each patch bug is usually complex, requiring extensive set up and very careful testing, including testing as described as well as creative probing of related functionality that could be impacted. This is done under stringent time constraints and no room for error. During my tenure at MCA, I documented 4 thousand of 7 thousand bugs filed by the whole team, and I filed more bugs than the other three QA team members combined. MCA Solutions has used SCRUM since 2010 and I have been part of SCRUM teams since then. Show less
