Event Manager
-
Sep 2016 - Aug 2017
I have recently started on this position and I have already gained some very valuable skills, such as multitasking, efficient time management, creativity and public speaking. I love how this job offers instant gratification after a job well done, and it encourages team work, a selfless approach to life and humbleness, as well as challenging my capabilities, making me push myself a little further with every event. Postgraduate PR Ambassador
-
Feb 2016 - Aug 2016
I improved my oral and written communication skills in a non-native language through the student stories and newsletters I had to elaborate as support for the University’s Marketing team as a recruitment tool. I further developed a systematic and organised way of working as to fit my duties as PR Ambassador within my student tasks. I also extended my researching skills through the study of new ways of reaching potential students, such as online panels. By being the nexus between the University of Brighton and potential postgraduate students, I also acquired comprehension and listening competences. The role of the Ambassador PR Officer is to support the marketing and recruitment activity of the school by: - Mantaining and developing a social networking campaign for the School of Sport and Service Management in collaboration with the School's marketing team. - Gathering graduate success stories via the alumni and create profiles for the website. - Dealing with referral queries regarding student life with applicants and offering advice and guidance and answering questions as appropiate. - Gathering from within the School stories that would be appropriate for a newsletter. - Designing and developing course specific newsletters. - Gathering intelligence data and carrying out research projects as required. - Acting in any other capacity in support of the marketing activity of the school. - Liasing with central Marketing and Communications office. - Supporting the work of the admissions team, facilitating open/applicant days and liaising with applicants. Aupair
-
Aug 2014 - Jul 2015
This position involved looking after a Seaford’s mum’s 9 and 7 year-old boys, which enhanced traits such as empathy, sympathy, nurturing and caring. It also reinforced my organisational skills, as I had to make sure to fulfil all my duties, including housework or preparing pack lunches in advance. Aupering made me more proactive, looking for new ways of entertaining and having fun with the children, also demonstrating my determination, as I left my hometown in Spain with the ultimate goal of improving my language skills to gain access to a Master’s programme in the UK. It was also a good experience to develop further problem-solving skills Show less

Event Planning and Management / Creative Copy Writer
-
Mar 2013 - Jan 2014
I was an intern in the company. Although my duties belonged to the Event Department, I also aided in the Creative Department as Copy Writer. My responsibilities entailed managing and planning private events and promotions, dealing with suppliers, communication with clients, managing invite lists, contacting attendees, gathering and monitoring feedback from clients and event attendees, research, presentation designing, logistics, event set up, coordinating subcontractors, coordinating small teams, seating planning, minute taking, etc. I demonstrated communication skills, as I had to maintain an open communication stream with both clients and suppliers. In addition, I developed high management and organisation competences through my duties of managing listings, venues and third party suppliers, among other responsibilities, which also demonstrate my ability to work under pressure. I also became proficient in researching, as part of my job focused on doing market research as a means to prepare event and campaign proposals. I worked as part of a four people team within the events team, but I also supported the four people creative department with occasional works as copy writer. This double role aided in the establishing of an independent approach to work that allowed me to be proactive and self-confident. Show less
