Ola is a hard worker, and I'm always left with more insight into a problem after a talk with him. I see him doing a great job in mentoring master students. He is a team player and always sees the "big picture".

Ola Kennedy Zatterstrom

Ola has great interpersonal skills in getting a young team together

Project title: Improved detection and screening for cancer using dual frequency ultrasound. The initial phase of the project concerns development of new hardware, and signal processing algorithms. These will be utilised to assess the potential benefit of using dual frequency ultrasound in detecting and classifying tumors. In vivo studies on patients who are scheduled for ultrasound in brest cancer screening, as well as patients who are scheduled for prostate examinations, are currently being planned. The work is funded by the Liaison Committee between the Central Norway Regional Health Authority (RHA) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), supervised by Prof. Bjørn Angelsen, and will be conducted in conjunction with a number of medical doctors at St. Olavs University Hospital, in Trondheim. Working on the development of a new ultrasound scanner for improved imaging, and therapy applications. The project is funded by the Research Council of Norway, FORNY2020. The system is based on an Analogics SonixMDP, with the addition of an Aurotech Manus. Leading the design and development of new ultrasound transducers, involved in the development of scanner software (C++) and system integration.
