It’s rare that you find an architect who has such relevant technical skills, yet is still one step ahead of everyone else in the

Duncan Mole

Olivier's architectural skills are second to none. He will go deep on any topic you care to mention from GC to middleware and make the kind of good design calls early that doubtless you will thank him for when you realise just how good the call was. All this and he is an incredibly nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Olivier again.

I am responsible of the delivery and commercialisation of the Hydra platform. Hydra is a set of components (libraries and tools) that we use to accelerate the delivery of our projects. It is based on the excellent Aeron messaging system and Aeron cluster which enables a unique architecture to build high performance and highly available systems while keeping the business logic nice and simple. We have delivered many trading systems to production with this style of architecture and we believe this is the future not only for electronic trading but also for many other industries. When I’m not working on Hydra, I’m generally focusing pre-sales, account management, overseeing project delivery or punishing a team mate at our football table :-) Show less

In 2012 I co-founded Adaptive, a London based software consultancy specialised in building realtime trading systems. For the first 2 years I was 100% involved in delivery, designing and building eCommerce systems for our seed client Deutsche Bank.Over the following 3 years we focused on growing the business and diversifying our client base. We opened offices in Barcelona and Montreal in 2016 and our New York office in 2017.During that period I was overseeing a portfolio of projects and driving technical architecture, selling projects to new customers, managing several accounts and doing all the things founders do when growing a business from 4 to 150 people, without compromising on quality and culture, and from £0 to £20M+ revenue. In a nutshell, juggling with many balls while sitting on a roller coster.During the period we were named in the The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 and in the Tech Track 100 as one of the fastest-growing UK companies. • Technical Architect - FX Single Dealer Platform
      • Jul 2009 - Feb 2012

In 2009 Societe Generale decided to build its own FX Single Dealer platform.During the initial phase of the project, I worked on the high level architecture of the platform and we carried out a build vs buy study and finally decided to combine internal build and a consultancy to deliver under time and budget. I shortlisted several vendors for our Web push solution and then started working on the infrastructure provisioning for the deployment of the platform in the different regions (US, EU and Asia) and the different development and integration environments. I also contributed to the project global roadmap, defining and estimating functional, non-functional and technical deliverables. The development kicked-off early 2010 and we managed to build an effective and versatile team from scratch: from an initial group of 3 people at the end of 2010 we grew the team to more than 30 people by April 2011, including management, BAs, UXs, Designers, testers and developers.During the first few sprints of the project I took the scrum master hat and run the scrum process. I then led the architecture/technical team and was in charge of the overall design of the platform including technical and non-functional aspects: continuous build and continuous delivery, technical frameworks, middleware, environment setup and maintenance.I participated and/or led all project studies for the AlphaFX program: a team composed of a BA, a UX and I was continuously interacting with stakeholders and senior IT management to gather business requirements and break them down into stories to feed and prevent starvation of our execution pipeline (scrum teams). • .NET Developer - Technical Architect - Single Dealer Platform FI & Commo
      • 2007 - Jun 2009

This project was my first experience within Finance. I was the dev lead & architect for a team of 8 people and we delivered a Fixed Income single dealer platform used by sales and clients. I designed the server side architecture to push streaming prices, orchestrate RFQ workflows, feed blotters and provide all required slow moving reference data (calendars, entitlements, etc) and build several key components of the web client. We initially integrated IRD Swaps, curves and butterflies and following the success of this delivery the Commodity business reached out to our team to integrate Commodity swaps (RFQ workflows).Technical environment: Web 2.0, AJAX, Javascript, WCF, Lightstreamer, .NET 3.5, multi-threading, RMDS, TIBCO RV.
