I worked here as a classroom teacher of English and Literature. I was responsible for assessing and evaluating my students. I also came up with The Language policy that was warmly received and saw students communicate purely in English and Swahili. While working here, I also assisted the school principal and examination department in ensuring that learners were registered in the National Education Management of Information Systems (NEMIS). With my computer skills, I efficiently did the tasks within a short period and saw the school receive more funds to cater for students. I passionately trained my drama and music students who had joined my Drama and Music Club (DMC). Additionally, I worked with Languages Department members to start up a debating club that formed part of language enforcement criteria in the institution. Till my departure, I felt deeply connected with the staff, faculty and students. I still keep in touch with most of them and I am happy that the policies we laid out are being practised still. Teaching English and Literature as a classroom teacher in this school gave me great exposure to a new environment in teaching two schools at the same time. The school was structured in a manner that it had separate facilities for boys and girls. I had two offices: One in the boys' and another in the girls' compound. I actively nurtured talent by training my students in Music and dance. I passionately trained the Drama Club members and the exemplary was impressive: The drama festival performances got to County levels: Something that had not been achieved since the school was established. I evaluated my students and gave them career advice. Till my departure, I kept a good professional network with my students, faculty and staff. Show less
