Working within the senior executive team of a small, values driven social enterprise to organise funding for our programs and assist with broader company goals. My responsibilities include proposal and pitch writing, leading meetings with stakeholders and prospective partners, research, and strategy development in addition to providing support to project design and marketing teams. This role is also an opportunity for me to work in the field of gender/feminist focused advocacy and policy, and has connected me with amazing role models in this area.

Selected as a participant for The Girls Leadership Network's 'Girls Run the World' programme, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the political office at the US Embassy in Canberra. Through this program, I worked closely with social media advisors and speech writers and was also fortunate enough to meet with the Deputy Chief of Mission to discuss women in the foreign service and the future of gender security in the Asia Pacific. In November, myself and Clare Jessup ran the Embassy's social media coverage of the Leadership Excellence Award ceremony.

A challenging and engaging conference conducted online with members from all around the Asia-Pacific region discussing some of the most pressing issues of the modern era and the impact of COVID on regional security. Program was divided into three key areas, Socio-Cultural, Economic, and Political. This was a fantastic opportunity to get a different perspective on security issues, and hear from experienced academics and practitioners. The Australian Crisis Simulation Summit was a 2 week leadership program designed to challenge delegates and deliver first hand experience of working within Australia's security, government and intelligence institutions. Over the course of the Summit, we participated in hyper-realistic, dynamic, and intense crisis simulations where we were required to work as teams to meet time-sensitive objectives. We also had the opportunity to collaborate with leaders of Australian international affairs as well as diplomats and academics. Given the upcoming challenges facing the world, this summit was an invaluable training experience. It also gave me a greater understanding of the intricacies of Australia’s foreign and defence policy challenges as well as an amazing network of peers and mentors.
