The child advocate visits the children in their home, whether it is with a family member or foster parent, to assess their needs, wants, and to ensure a healthy and safe living environment. The child advocate meets with teachers, principals, and school counselor to ensure that the children are making sufficient progress during the school year. The child advocate meets and discusses with department of social services workers, therapists for the children, and attorney advocates. The child advocate submits a report to the court on the children with a recommendation on the goal for the outcome of the case, current placement, visitation, therapy, tutoring, and any other particular needs of the children.
