The CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities at Hunter College examines a broad set of issues associated with urbanization and global environmental change. Currently, the Institute focuses on the New York Metropolitan Region and how communities and stakeholders understand, interact with, and manage their physical environment so as to make the City a laboratory and model for 21st century environmental sustainability. As Program Manager I coordinate the core projects of the Institute, and take an active role in the management of space and facilities, and the hiring and supervision of institute staff, student assistants, and interns. In addition, I assist the Director and Deputy Directors with all aspects of Institute administration including personnel actions; budgeting; purchasing; planning and scheduling meetings; newsletter production; proposal development and grant writing; maintaining project databases; and being a liaison to governmental, NGO, and university agencies.
