2 weeks of internship in IMH has been overwhelming and eye opener for me. I met different types of patients with different mental issues. Being in IMH, I learned on how to read their behaviors. It is a major difference than the normal general hospitals. I have learned different types of medications being prescribed to the patients; Diazepam, and other anti-depressants drugs. In additional, I was able to talk to the patients and ask questions on how they ended up being in IMH. It was heartbreaking but also allowing me to open up more to them to make them feel in a better place. Show less

      - Learned the various diagnosis that happened in women and children - Handling pregnancy mothers, post partum and ways to reassure children and so. Ward 77: I was being posted to Ward 77, a gynae ward. It was a very calming but a good learning environment as women like mothers, singles or wives, go through pre and post-op. It had been nice to talk to the patients on how they ended up in this hospital and with that, it has helped me through my internship journey in many ways. As we only got one chance to learn about women and children in school, it was a good experience to practice skills such as monitoring pad chart, performing pre-op checklist before surgery. Show less
