Project Assistant. Main activities developed within the R&D FCT Project “Impact of atmospheric indoor aerosol in human health (PTDC/SAU-ESA/65597/2006)”, which aims to investigate the relationship between the indoor air quality of classrooms and the health impact and educational performance of children attending primary schools in Lisbon city: i) Application and optimization of a sampling methodology based up on passive deposition. ii) Sampling campaigns for bioaerossols (bacteria, fungus and pollens) and total particulate matter (TPM) at 14 primary schools of Lisbon urban area. iii) Analysis of the above: bioaerossols (quantification for bacteria and fungi and identification and quantification for pollens) and TPM [elemental composition (by k0-INAA), soluble ions (by ionic chromatography, atomic absorption and UV spectroscopy) and natural radioactivity (gamma measurement)].
