      I was placed at Mafube Colliery which is an OpenCast mine. During my vacation work program, I worked with the Blasting department. My daily activities included preparing a bench for a blast. This was done by priming the blast holes, assisting with the blast logic during charging to find the hole identity by GPS and also record the mass of explosives charged in a hole and the stemming length. My project was based on drilling and Blasting analysis to Improve the efficiency of dozers.
