As a first year nursing student, I had the opportunity of working at the Glen Site both at the Royal Victoria and at the Cedar Center, in inpatient, outpatient and critical care units. My role consisted of providing basic care for patients (bathing, feeding, positioning) safely while coordinating with nurses and the healthcare team. I usually had to care for 12+ patients, therefore time management was needed. My positon was on-call but I was working 25hours/week during the summer. This job introduced me to various units, which allowed me to build on my knowledge from nursing school. Show less
