      Focus: Thermodynamic stability study of hybrid materials for energy related applications- Investigated the role of chemical substitution and porosity on the thermodynamic stability of hybrid perovskites and ZIF-8 analogues by using room temperature and high temperature calorimetry- Synthesized pure hybrid perovskites, doped rare earth oxide, and indium MOFs using solution, coprecipitation and hydrothermal synthesis methods and characterized the samples using PXRD, FTIR, TG/DSC, BET, and EPMA analysis- Collaborated with multidisciplinary researchers and discovered a strong linear correlation between MOF stability and Hammett constant, a possible strong predictive tool for MOF development- Identified a significant linear relationship between hybrid manganese perovskite stability and their A-site molecular cation stability, a unique property compared to their inorganic perovskite counterpart- Designed experiment and analyzed the role of pore size and framework functionalization on indium MOFs gas adsorption affinity and capacity towards CO2 and CH4 gasses by using gas adsorption calorimetry- Contributed to several collaborative projects and research grant proposals writing- Maintained excellent working condition, written SOP, and trained users for TG/DSC, quadrupole mass spectrometer, and acid solution calorimetry, leading to more than 3 years of smooth operation

      Focus: Polymer fabrication with environmentally friendly method for biomedical applications - Designed experiments for fabrication of porous poly(l-lactic acid) with scCO2 foaming at different conditions up to 393 K and 207 bar and with up to addition of 30 wt% additives. - Modified and improved scCO2 foaming setup, which increased fabrication rate by 4-times - Analyzed the role of scCO2-philic additives on the pore formation in polymer matrix for the first-time using SEM images, which shows porosity improvement by up to 40%. - Studied the drug release behavior from the porous matrix using UV/VIS, observed burst release mechanism in the first 30 minutes, followed by slower release in the span of 1 week.
