As a Senior Engineer / Project Manager within PDE I have responsibility for the management of multi-discipline project engineering teams. The role requires elements of personnel, time and budgetary management on projects ranging from £150K to in excess of £5M. With the aim of delivering the projects safely within the prescribed timescale and budget. The role requires regular travel to client’s sites both in the UK and ROI.I am required to lead the project team from initial budget development and conceptual design (sales) stage through to, in many instances the completion of construction and commissioning works. Experience includes;Tendering process both in terms of tendering for work including presenting proposals to potential clients and developing tenders for work within projects.Development of detailed project plans and specifications using tools such as MS Project, Word and Excel.Budget preparation and control, including tracking against targets and where required management of the variation process both in relation to cost and time. Regular project reporting both internal and external (client). This includes detailed reports and face to face meetings.Contract management including NEC 3 and IMechE MF1.Extensive experience with regards to Health and Safety management. Many projects require the role of CDM Principle Designer or for ROI projects PSDP, within which I am actively involved.Liaison with external bodies such as HSE, HSA and Local Planning Authorities.

As an Industrial Placement student I gained experience within the various design departments including, Mechanical, Electrical and Automation. I spent an amount of time working on the CAD systems producing layout drawing, pneumatic diagrams and various electrical drawings. Towards the end of my placement period I spent time with the Production Planning and management departments, gaining valuable experience in terms of production.Prior to the end of my placement period I was offered a full time role within Tooling Department, which I accepted and subsequently started after my graduation. My placement year culminated in me being awarded a Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS), with Commendation.
