I had the pleasure of working with Norma Perez in various capacities. The first time we met, I was a first time freshman , where she helped me refine and develop my ideas for an assigned essay. Our most recent encounters were as colleagues, English teachers for California State University Northridge's Upward Bound Program. During our instructor meetings, Norma's passion, skill, experience, and creativity contributed greatly to our discussions, and have influenced some of the assignments and activities I include in my curriculum when working in the classroom or tutoring.
