I have been supervising Noraly for 6 months during which time she worked as a logistical administrative (field) coordinator in Lesbos for the humanitarian mission of Boat Refugee Foundation. Nora interned with us at WIL Uganda for 6 months leading our International Team and developing and spearheading our Social Media and Communications Strategy. During her time with us, Nora was instrumental in developing partnerships with local Non Governmental Organisations, Local Government and Community Stakeholders building on the organisations reach and visibility on a National level. On an International level Nora's commercial awareness enabled her to develop an engaging social media strategy for our organisation which boosted our online presence giving rise to new opportunities to partner with other international organisations. Boat Refugee Foundation provides psychosocial support and primary and emergency medical care to the people living in Moria camp, a hotspot located on Lesvos, Greece. As a field coordinator, my main responsibilities include finances, logistics, managing the flow of information to volunteers, being the main contact for media approaching BRF on Lesvos, managing the team of interpreters and media volunteers. Together with the medical team, I set up a translator training for interpreters living in Moria refugee camp. For the restart of the medical mission, treating 50-120 patients per day and providing care during emergencies, the medical coordinator and I set up the logistics and framework from scratch.
