I have led the growth of this program from just two schools in Oakland to over 160 schools in every district in Alameda County.   Shepherded, edited and helped pass OUSD's Wellness Policy; implemented federal and state Health Education mandates including TUPE, HIV/AIDS, CHKS, and others. Created a districtwide Coordinated School Health Council involving parents, principals, teachers, community based organizations, public health and other stakeholders to improve staff and student wellness throughout this complex urban district.   Executive Director of this national nonprofit organization, I led all fundraising, programmatic, board development, and advocacy efforts for 15 years. I am proud of conceiving and drafting, and seeing through to successful passage of landmark legislation mandating increased Diethylstilbestrol (DES) research and establishing, for the first time, a government education campaign about DES through the Centers for Disease Control. I helped organize multiple national convenings and spoke to many audiences. Also responsible for all direct mail correspondence, annual reports, and budgets. Show less
