  I am currently a door to door fundraiser. Each day we are given a new location by managers and go as a team to this location to get people donating to the charity we are representing on that day. Kids Kabin

  Working with young children who needs extra help and time and working with other children who have anger issues. Volunteering here has helped me to understand that I have to be very quick to notice people’s behaviour to know how to act with them and how to go about helping them without making them feel helpless. During my time at kids kabin I helped organise many trips, days out, I planned and led many sessions, I was assigned my own group of kids to run and lead session for, in the 6 weeks… Working with young children who needs extra help and time and working with other children who have anger issues. Volunteering here has helped me to understand that I have to be very quick to notice people’s behaviour to know how to act with them and how to go about helping them without making them feel helpless. During my time at kids kabin I helped organise many trips, days out, I planned and led many sessions, I was assigned my own group of kids to run and lead session for, in the 6 weeks holidays in 2019 I planned, organised and created a ‘Best Summer Ever’ programme in which I ran activities 2 days a week with children in my local community ensuring they all have at least 2 healthy meals a week during the summer holidays as this is not always possible in big deprived families. Due to my hard work and passion throughout my years volunteering at kids kabin I went on to win the North East Young Charity Champion award in 2019. I have gained skills and experience from kids kabin which you probably would not deal with in a regular job setting. Show more Show less
