  Hammer-IMS is a young and innovative spin-off company of the MICAS research group at the KU Leuven. Hammer-IMS supplies highly accurate and contactless measurement systems based on the Marveloc 602 measurement platform. One typical application is tracking thickness or basis weight of paper and plastic during production. The market for these kind of monitoring applications is currently dominated by nuclear sensing techniques. The Hammer-IMS Marveloc 602 measurement platform is a clean and cheaper alternative to these harmful technologies. Another application domain is the measurement of discrete material stacks and material presence detection for the packaging and paper converting industry. In these industries, Hammer-IMS offers tailored solutions based on the Marveloc 602 measurement platform where other technologies (e.g. optical or acoustic) are not adequate to formulate a reliable solution.   Imagine a contactless, harmless, precise, realtime and digital measurement solution for thicknesses and densities, even in concealed or harsh environments. This would change the world of quality inspection systems for inline process and production monitoring. The Hammer Incubation project, supported by KU Leuven, FMTC, IWT and IOF is focusing on bringing this quality measurement solution to the manufacturing industry.
