Andrew Schneider brings a strong vision to the projects he contributes to, and he has an extraordinary capability to lead working groups toward successful outcomes. I recommend him without hesitation for any opportunity where you need a capable leader and an exceptional communicator.
Nick Armstrong
Andrew’s clear-minded leadership has resulted in some of Fort Collins’ most culturally relevant, community-focused events. His ongoing ability to combine wildly divergent communities is inspiring. Having worked with Andrew firsthand on several different events, I can also say his leadership style is calm competency. Whether you were attempting to gather insight on organizational blind spots, or attempting to improve processes across-the-board, Andrew has some sort of methodology that will fit the bill, while enabling all stakeholders to have their say and feel both respected and listened to. Andrew is a trusted community advisor across a number of different spaces, his opinion is both valued and highly regarded because of the depth of his experience and research. If Andrew directs his attention to something, it will most assuredly be done well.

Feb 2020 - Apr 2020
Contract canceled due to Covid. :( The performing arts community have been leaders in Trinidad since the first town council in 1876, whose chair, Sam Jaffa, and family built and operated an amazing opera house. Imagine the vision and dedication it took at that time to erect an 800 seat opera house at the main intersection of this yet-to-be-developed “Victorian city” dramatically and delightfully surrounded on all sides by grassland, forest, and riparian wilderness, half way between Denver and Santa Fe. Although this splendid opera house has long since closed, today’s infrastructure for the performing arts continues in vibrant fashion. For the last 20 years Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre (SCRT) has carried the torch for Trinidad’s rich performing arts history. The company, which started in the president’s office at TSJC, has served students, community and professionals with their programs. In addition to providing this local center of gravity for the performing arts, SCRT has been a leader in working to ‘Save’ Trinidad’s historic buildings and preserve the historic character of downtown. Through thousands of hours of volunteer work and a generation of restoration and stewardship, SCRT’s community of theatre artists and lovers have transformed the endangered Famous Department Store Building (1898) into the Famous Performing Arts Center. Today, SCRT continues that role of historic stewardship, providing a roughly-18,000 square foot performing arts facility with a 6,000 square foot thrust-proscenium stage and bar/lounge venue, a rehearsal hall, production facilities (costume, props, sets, lights), and storage that serves Trinidad and the surrounding areas’ student, community, and professional theatre artists and audiences. Managing Director
-
Mar 2018 - Feb 2019
The Downtown Artery, a 14,000-square-foot arts hub in downtown Fort Collins, has hired Andrew Schneider as managing director, to lead the organization through a period of growth and transformation, the organization announced today. Downtown Artery was recognized earlier this month by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts for outstanding partnerships and engagements with the arts — familiar territory for Schneider, who will also continue working in the nonprofit space through Create Places, an economic and workforce development nonprofit he co-founded. “I am fortunate to join a wonderful, dedicated team at Downtown Artery and I’m thrilled to work with them. Amy has been amazing and will be sorely missed in the day-to-day operations. I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Amy on a broad range of projects over the years and look forward to the next chapter in our relationship—as her star continues ascending,” Schneider said. "We have appreciated the many contributors to our journey and are excited for our future. We are continuing to explore the best organizational structure – staying as an LLC with an eye towards becoming a B Corp or ESOP versus transitioning into a nonprofit. Andrew is uniquely gifted to help the organization discern the best path forward. We retain our vision of a vibrant community where art is valued, artists are empowered, and creativity is sparked,” said Downtown Artery Board Chair Kent Bradley. The Downtown Artery began in response to a perceived need for a safe and inviting place for creatives to collaborate and the community to participate (run by artists – for artists). The founders believed that the ability to express ourselves through visual and performing art is an important part of human experience that breathes life and vitality into a community. The name Artery suggests that the lifeblood of any community is the arts and the creative nature in each of us. Find more information at http://downtownartery.com. Show less
