  As a Peer Mentor for the MESA program, I assist my fellow students as they take their first steps into their STEM studies. I do this by counseling, tutoring, and guiding them to resources provided by both Bakersfield College and the MESA program. I actively aid in problem solving through tutoring and directing them to services that aid in their academic journeys.   As a research intern for the California Renewable Energy Lab, I conducted research alongside my teammates on a feasibility study for two different carbon capture technologies, those being CO2 Liquefaction and Pressure Swing Adsorption. Over the 5-week course we contacted various companies and studied Peer-reviewed papers to obtain information pertaining to the cost, efficiency, safety regulations, and environmental impacts of these technologies. To finish up, my team and I gave a presentation to Bakersfield College staff, board members, and our project managers outlining our findings and which of the technologies we recommended for their project.
