As Chapter President, I was responsible for the functions of the society by organizing meetings, facilitating the functions of each member of the officer team, creating fundraisers, and establishing contact with the deans of the 3 Texas dental schools. During my term, my organization was able to raise $10,000 of chapter funds, created a end-of-the-year scholarship program that paid for member's Dental Admissions Test (DATs), scrubs, and DAT prep material, as well as organized day trips to the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and UT Health School of Dentistry at Houston. Pre-Dental Society/American Student Dental Association Treasurer

As Chapter Treasurer, I was responsible for the financial transactions of the Pre-Dental Society/American Student Dental Association. I introduced Remind 101, deposited member's dues, collected receipts, introduced new forms of payment through Venmo and Cash App, wrote checks, and created budgets for trips and fundraisers. I also took part in the 2020 UTRGV Service Project of the Year, Shaping Healthy Smiles, a dental community outreach with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District.

SHPEP Scholar

Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a summer enrichment program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. At UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine and Charles Drew University, I learned about the importance of public health, understanding health disparities across the nation, and the implementation of PBL or problem-based learning within a team. By the end of this program, I was able to present the importance of raising awareness of Hepatitis B within the Asian-American community. Show less
