Designing and building automated pipelines to deploy NCR's next gen software and data micro-service based platform into Azure/AWS/GCP onto Kubernetes Clusters. Automating the deployment of Hadoop Clusters including Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, Yarn, Pig, Hive, HDFS, Storm, Solr, Tez, Slider, and many other Hadoop ecosystem components. All of this and more (including the occasional On-Prem customer deployment)... while still finding time with my team to implement full PCI compliance in less than Three Months. Show less

NCR is in the middle of an internal revolution. In an attempt to remake our image we are transitioning from a hardware based sales model to a heavier software and cloud based model. Significant parts of the transition involve:- Moving to cloud based infrastructure, - Deploying (in an automated manner) a new innovative platform and corresponding micro-service based applications (Blue-Green and Canary Deployments)- Enabling Infra/APM monitoring, log aggregation, open tracing and request replay to lower env's to support continued improvement, development activities and shorten the feedback loop. - Help Application teams adopt a DevOps Culture.- Work with and enable the application teams to support and maintain all environments from dev to prod.My role is to bring order to the chaos that is this transition. Few understand how to survive and navigate such a challenge... I refuse to only survive; I thrive! Show less

Being part of this start-up gave me the opportunity to develop deployment/infrastructure/operations solutions and back-end applications in Go. I was also very excited to have the opportunity to utilize React, Relay and GraphQL with WebPack 2 to duplicate the main e-commerce site which we are working on moving in as a replacement for the legacy Wordpress site. Utilizing Linode VPS's we are able to get great performance at a low cost. Initially it was difficult because I had to scrape together a hodgepodge CI/CD pipeline from shell/bash scripts, Git, Github, Docker containers and Docker-Compose before we where able to move to utilizing Bitbucket's Pipelines with our Docker containers. Development and deployment of internal applications utilizing Go, JavaScript (NodeJS), REST, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Express, AngularJS, Postgres, Git, Github, Bitbucket, Docker, Docker-Compose and Development and deployment of e-commerce site utilizing React, Redux, Relay, GraphQL, WebPack 2, Postgres, Git, Github, Bitbucket, Docker and Docker-Compose. Working for a start up, in an Agile environment, I helped the company grow from less than 500k to Millions in revenue. Utilizing Kubernetes and Docker I deployed multiple technology stacks onto AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Linode/Digital Ocean Linux VPS's. I am very passionate about AI, automation, performance, security and enjoyed working with Jenkins and Ansible to create an optimized CI/CD pipeline. While building out the CI/CD pipeline for our Rails and Nodejs applications significant increases in team performance as well as reductions in costs and support requests from the hundreds of universities all around the globe utilizing the Stukent platform where noticed. Active development and maintenance of production applications in Go, JavaScript (NodeJS) and Ruby. Creation and maturation of cloud based infrastructure including Linux VPS's from Linode and Digital Ocean, as well as EC2 instances with AWS and Kubernetes Clusters on the GCP. Deployments and releases managed via Jenkins, DroneCI, CicleCI and Docker-Compose/Docker Deploy. Additionally utilizing private/public Git Repos, Docker Images with GCS, ECS and Docker Registry. Many of our applications took advantage of very popular technologies such as: reverse proxies like Nginx, Apache and Traefik, databases such as Postgres, Redis, Mongodb and Mysql as well as message queueing systems like RabbitMQ to name a few. Monitoring 24/7 via Stackdriver, Prometheus (including it's numerous exporters and Grafana for data visualization) and Datadog. Security risks assessed and planned for via Suricata, Snort and Bro allowing for response and recovery from DDoS attacks/data-center failures. Show less

While working directly with department heads we identified existing pages in need of updates as well as new pages in need of creation which where then prototyped and proposed for publishing to production. While developing the new applications we made sure to make them mobile and SEO friendly Single Page Applications to significantly increase load time and performance. Deployed first Single Page Applications for department significantly updating feel and performance of department page. Optimized site to reduce page load times by 25% and improve internal SEO results. In less than 6 months prototyped multiple drop in Single Page Applications to replace static/unresponsive pages.
