      During the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Israel's second lockdown, dozens of small businesses, even the most salt of the earth among them, were left without proper workforce and in desperate need of employees. This happened to also be at the height of date harvest season. Even at minimum wage, it was important to come and expend hard labor from sunrise to sunset in the hottest summer in years (48/118 degrees one day) in order to lend support to our essential workers, the agriculture and agronomy workers who grow our crops. Far from glorious work, it is the most satisfying job I have worked to "date", because I can proudly say that by the sweat of my brow I supported a home front business. Show less
