  In this job i worked as an attendant (companion for those who lived in the nursing home), along with several other colleagues my age during that time. A few of the experiences that I take with me from this chapter in my life is: how to deal with patients suffering from Dementia, Alzheimer's, Schizophrenia etc. in a compassionate manner and the experiences of how to make someone's day better, which may be as simple as smiling and greeting them. But more importantly, listening and talking to them, when their family doesn't. I am proud to have been able to be apart of making the elderly patients even a little bit happier. My assignments during my employment were fairly simple, entertain, talk and have fun with the patients in the nursing home. Show less
