International Services Intern
-
Oct 2017 - May 2018
I participated in the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program which seeks to reestablish lost communication between family members who have been internationally separated by conflicts or disasters. Most cases involved tracing and searching work to locate missing family members within the Greater New York jurisdiction. Other cases consisted of exchanging Red Cross messages between family members and performing health and welfare checks. I also conducted outreach; helped identify, locate, and inform New York communities that would benefit from the RFL program; assisted with the 'International Humanitarian Law and the Fundamental Principles of the Global Red Cross Network' education programs; and assisted with event planning and registration for various conferences and panels hosted at the Greater New York Region Red Cross Chapter. History Exhibits Intern
-
Sep 2017 - Dec 2017
As an intern, I collaborated closely with the exhibition planning team under the supervision of the Vice President for History Exhibitions. I assisted in maintenance of the companion website to 'The Vietnam War' exhibition—effort involved content creation, managing, transcribing, and preparing visitor responses for presentation on the web and for archiving. Other duties included proofreading of text presented in the exhibit, and observing visitor interest in different parts of the exhibit to determine which sections seemed most engaging. Show less
