      Today, the team's goal is to develop a project for the international synthetic biology competition iGEM 2023. As a member of SynFronteras, I'm in the field of Dry Lab, which basically acts in the development of mathematical models or biological simulations, so that we can carry out the experiments on the bench (Wet Lab) with less risk of errors. We follow the DBTL cycle (Design, Build, Test and Learn), the Dry Lab starts the cycle with the design of the experiments, the selection of the genetic parts, the chassis (organism) and biochemical routes according to the problem, the mathematical modeling can be done through various methods (kinetic equations, for example), we use computational resources to analyze data and parameters. And so the cycle can go on. Being part of the team has been both an academic and personal advantage, as in addition to responsibilities, tasks and knowledge, a lot of communication and understanding between team members is required.       The Synthetic Biology team, SynFronteras, was invited to teach a course about assembly of genetic circuits at the VI Academic Biotechnology Week from Unila. Other team members and I organized ourselves to do a theoretical and practical part (computer) on the subject, in addition to a step-by-step guide book. It was a very learning experience, as I had to learn how to use IBioSim to show the participants, besides understanding how the SBOL and SBML languages worked. The course was presented with excellence and only possible because of the group work. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to teach through synthetic biology. Show less
