While working the in Haoyi Wang Lab, we focus on technology development for genome editing and manipulation. Many of the projects involve cell culture, transfection, Flow Cytometry, immuno-fluorescence, DNA-FISH, molecular cloning techniques, and more. The position has also provided me mentorship opportunities with various undergraduate students.While in the Genetic Resource Department, my main focus was on mouse model development. Duties included management of mouse colonies, genotyping, screening of ES cells for targeted clones, Loss of Allele assay, qPCR, RT-PCR, and southern gel running. Additional duties included lab safety management, robotic instrument maintenance and training, as well as other general lab maintenance. Show less
