Mohd. Ali was once asked before his big fight how he would face his undefeated opponent, hereplied, “fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee!”. That’s been my journey so far, with thechallenges I have chosen to pursue in my career thus far. All through the corporate years, Ihave been part of “lean and mean” teams driven by a large purpose, and that can be extremelyoverwhelming. Spent over 15 years with Fortune 500 companies and biggest conglomerateslike the TATAs & Reliance group, often surpassing what was unassailable.While doing all of this, one thing that always remained with me was giving back to the society ofwhich I have been a part of. My 20 years of understanding, building and growing businesseshas helped me step into social entrepreneurship and community building.At Weaver Story, also our small yet significant journey has been driven to “Be the Next”, wherewe strive to set the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Constantlychallenging ourselves to improve and break new ground. Making a positive impact on all ourstakeholders continuously.Weaver Story is an initiative to celebrate and honour the luxurious heritage & traditions of Indianhandlooms. The label was established on National Handloom Day on August 8, 2015, in anattempt to bridge the gap between true fans of original Indian handlooms and those with acentury-long lineage in this artistic heritage. It fills me with gratitude when I recall the day wefirst launched Weaver Story with just five sarees and a Facebook page. Today, we are a 30member team working with over 400 weavers from 10 different weaving clusters, transformingthe lives of weavers and the experiences of our customers. Our timeless treasures have wonthe hearts of people in 20 countries over the last seven years.
