      Kielkamp Schule is a school for children with special educational needs in Hamburg, Germany, where I did a work placement for six months. I was the main class assistant for a class of 10-12 years olds and took on responsibilities in the day-to-day routines of the class, such as mealtimes, bathroom trips, and administering medication. I also supported a Maths class of 10-12 years olds and a German class of 6-8 year olds. During this placement I improved my German to near-fluency and learnt the practical aspects of SEN education, such as using a feeding tube and helping with changing and toileting. Show less
