Taking advantage of commercial opportunities whilst balancing the needs of habitats, wildlife, protected landscapes and amenity. Overall, I strive to ensure that our clients woodlands generate a sustainable income and continue to provide the wide range of wildlife and amenity benefits that typify the multipurpose forest landscapes in the South East.

I was responsible, as the lead project officer, for the delivery of the South Downs Forestry Partnership. This is a ground breaking landscape scale forestry project that aims to improve woodland management, bring together landowners, land managers and forestry professionals to respond to emerging markets and ensure that woodland is valued for its ecological, social and economic contribution to the landscape. It is the primary delivery mechanism for the forestry policies of the National Park Management Plan and I strove to ensure that woodland and forestry became an integral feature of the National Park identity.
