With over 20 years of experience, Ozgene provides genetically customised mice for researchers around the world. Ozgene mice can be found in laboratories on almost every continent, from small academic institutions to multinational pharmaceutical companies During my time at Ozgene, I have become proficient in a number of techniques and filled a number of roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently my focus has been the completion of a PhD at Ozgene in conjunction with Monash University which greatly contributed to my personal and professional growth. Some of the skills I have developed include (but are not limited to): Immunophenotyping of mouse lymphocytes using flow cytometry, with a particular focus on B cells during development and in the periphery. Investigation, development and implementation of high-throughput multiplex qPCR protocols. These served to replace our existing genotyping processes and allowed us to implement phenotyping workflows. Development of CRISPR experimental protocols on behalf of clients, examining the efficiency and effect of specific promoter centred deletions on gene expression in embryonic stem cells. Design of genetically customised mouse models. Construction of targeting vectors which includes many techniques under the molecular cloning umbrella, including sanger sequencing execution and analysis, PCRs, agarose gel electrophoresis, ligation, electroporation, bacterial cultures, and DNA extraction.
