Marine spatial planning scientist WILDOCEANS
-
Jan 2021 - Present
WILDOCEANS is the marine programme of the WILDTRUST, and focuses on marine conservation action in Southern Africa and the Western Indian Ocean. I work in a team which is developing species distribution models for a number of shark and ray species. These distribution maps are then used to identify optimal conservation areas in South Africa's continental EEZ thanks to spatial planning tools.
