My role was to facilitate advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies in bio/pharmaceutical industries. I was supporting the Emerging Technology Team, Science and Research Staff team, Center of Excellence for Manufacturing Science, and Office of Testing Research. I was involved in different sectors of the industry for drug substance, drug product, small molecules, and biologics; and pursuing new initiatives for knowledge-based process and product development, QbD implementation, in-silico tools, and modeling and simulation applications, and improving product quality and process robustness. My carrier goal was to help companies to adopt bio/pharmaceutical companies to adopt advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies for faster product development, manufacturing higher quality products, and reduce costs, and support the agency for enabling new approaches. We changed the bio/pharmaceutical industries from out-dated and old fashion batch and segregated processes to a modern and integrated continuous platform. My research and development activities were focused on four aspects of 1) batch to continuous manufacturing, 2) on-demand agile and intensified manufacturing, 3) end-to-end- and integrated drug substance and product platform, and 4) knowledge-based process/product development by mechanistic modeling.
