While in Little Lake City School District I held a variety of teaching positions in grades K-6. My first three years in the district I was responsible as the classroom teacher for both 3rd and 5th grades in a self contained classroom environment. In this environment I was responsible for creating and implementing interactive lessons, in all subject areas. My responsibilities also included close monitoring of student progress, analyzing student data to guide instruction, interaction with colleagues in teams to discuss data and plan accordingly, conference and work with parents to aide in student growth. During my time in Little Lake, I also served a year as a Reading Interventionist to students in 1st, 3rd and 5th grades. In this role I planned and implemented focused instruction to meet the needs of the students within my groups. For two years I was an "Arts for All" instructor teaching both music and art to grades K-5 across four elementary campuses in the district. My responsibilities included planning and implementing basic instruction in music fundamentals including reading music, rhythm, song and dance. In art, I taught lessons through the Meet the Masters program. Finally I taught Language Arts, Math, History and Science in a 6th grade, middle school environment. I was responsible for two blocks of students in which I created instruction for during the transition to Common Core Curriculum.
