Residency program with extensive training in 1. Integrated pediatric behavioral training along with onsite pediatric psychologist and pediatric psychology residents (40% encounters)2. Pediatric OSCAR Hispanic Clinic: Taking care of Hispanic pediatric patients, which enhances knowledge and skills in outreach and child advocacy. 3. Comprehensive Care Division: Children with special health care needs. Training in our program imparts confidence in handling these problems when practicing in the community4. Acute illness management, managing codes along with Serial Mock Code and Procedural Simulation to practice a variety of procedures including suturing, lumbar punctures, intubation, intra-osseous line placement, etc.5. Promote critical thinking and systems based practice: The faculty-mentored Research Curriculum mandatory for all residents is a scholarly project walking them through the process of design to analysis to presentation. The monthly journal clubs and Evidence Based Medicine series presented by residents with faculty mentoring repetitively makes them practice critical thinking and critique publications.

Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital is a flagship hospital of Government of Delhi providing health care services to the patients from Central Delhi area. The department of pediatrics at LNJP hospital offers a 80-bed NICU, 40- bed PICU and approximately 350 bed general pediatrics ward. The department of pediatrics at Maulana Azad Medical College has its clinical wing at LNJP hospital where all the resident go for their clinical rotation. During residency we rotate through both outpatient and inpatient services. Maulana Azad medical College is also a center for research, and offers both clinical and basic science research to its residents. Each resident has to conduct one prospective research project prior to completion of his residency and submit the thesis. The residency program at Maulana Azad Medical College also excels at sending the residents into carious fellowships, both within the country and abroad and also trains them to become general care pediatricians.
