Level 2 Support Worker
-
Nov 2016 - Dec 2017
Working in a 6 bed residential home supporting service users with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs. My current role involves the assisting in the day-to-day running of the home alongside other senior staff/home manager. I also act as a key worker to service users by reviewing and updating support plans, helping service users set and achieve attainable goals, and ensure they benefit from the best possible care suited to them. I regularly lead a team of support workers through the day in a challenging behaviour setting and I am responsible for the administration, ordering and monitoring of medication, supervising and leading in infection control, health and safety and COSHH. I will be trained in carrying out supervisions and appraisals, and I'm currently seeking to progress into a higher senior position opening up more opportunities to develop my current leadership and organisational skills.

Based in Trafford, my role as a community support worker is to provide care and support and to maintain and improve the quality of living for a variety if residents who suffer with mental health illnesses, predominantly schizophrenia. Though working mainly in mental health, some clients may have other debilitating diseases. As a support worker, my main responsibility is to make sure my clients are happy with their service and to monitor their health both mentally and physically.
