Sedation Dental Nurse
-
2017 - 2020
I undertook the Dental Sedation Nursing Qualification as my experiences with anxious patients encouraged me to enhance my skills in this field. This would enable me to work with a wide variety of conscious sedation techniques, such as intravenous and inhalation sedation, to make the patient’s dental journey less stressful and more comfortable. As a Sedation qualified Nurse, my main responsibilities are to prepare the sedation equipment for the operation ahead, the monitoring of patients throughout the procedure and to recover them safely, following current guidelines.

Dental Nurse Tutor
-
2017 - 2018
I have had a keen interest in teaching and bringing other people into this field, therefore, working as a Tutor and mentoring trainee Dental Nurses for the role has been enlightening. They must act in a safe manner and in the best interest of our patients, therefore, I ensured that nurses, dentists and dental students are all following Cross Infection Control procedures to avoid any mishaps. Private Patient Dental Nurse
-
2015 - 2017
As a Dental Nurse I have undertaken an annual training of ILS and PILS that allowed me to work within a team of qualified professionals when dealing with medical emergencies, which could range from a simple faint of a patient, to epileptic seizures, to an adverse reaction to drugs during sedation. Operating in high pressure scenarios such as these, has truly perfected my teamwork and honed my communication skills with team members, ensuring that I am aware of my role, while staying calm and in control when put under pressure. The hospital environment has given me the insight and opportunity to work with many, different people in a variety of teams, both in stressful and busy situations. As a Dental Nurse, my role also involves communicating with patients, some of which may be challenging, as they are often suffering from dental anxiety, or in high levels of pain.

Dental Nurse Manager
-
2011 - 2015
In addition to be a qualified Dental Nurse in Implants, Perio, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery (Sedation ) and General Dentistry I took an extra responsibility and was managing a whole Private Dental Practice. • During a medical emergency, I was reacting quickly and effectively to solve the situation according to the Hospital policy • I have to sort the technical issues that stopped the team from providing the essential care, by finding correct people in a short period of time. • Provide alternative ideas for my stuff if they had Rota problems or unexpected sick cover. • Ensure that both nurses, dentists and dental students are following Cross Infection Control procedures and acting in a safe manner and in the best interests of our patients.
