I became adept at selling and supporting technically many types of coating products. Carrying out trial, trouble shooting and also developing increased sales in the areas I worked in (This was selling and supplying technical support to vitreous enamel products, wet paint and also powder coatings.)   Following school I worked as a trqainee metallurgist with British Heat treatments limited and then moved on to work in the process control department at Parkinson Cowan limited. In this role I was involved in the technical support for , Vitreous enamelling, Painting, Electroplating, metallurgical support and metallographic support for the engineering functions within the factory. It was called the works Chemist in those days it would be called material scientist perhaps now. I worked my way up through the department and became department head, process control manager.
