Nigel is the kind of guy whom you give a problem and no matter how complex it is, he will offer a solution. What I particularly like about Nigel is how he always found time to listen to your queries, whether this was an issue, a question or a clarification. He would tailor his response back to you in a way that you would understand it without using vague language or "weird" development terms. His work has always been of high quality and on rare occasions, bugs would come out of testing. Evidently, he took pride in his work. Additionally, he is very well organised, always punctual and he is the only Developer I have come across that actually took the time to document the solution he was working on, in a way that non-technical people would understand. I do hope our paths cross again.

Having worked with Nigel for nearly 20 years, I am well qualified to recommend him to any organisation. I have huge respect for both his leadership and technical capabilities. He is as comfortable working with business stakeholders on business strategy as he is creating the technology strategy and architectural vision to deliver it. Nigel is also very adept in all areas of the development life cycle and still possesses all of the key hands-on skills to practice as a multi-platform, multi-language full stack developer. He is a natural thought leader and is always well informed on the latest technology innovations. On a personal level, Nigel is great guy to work alongside. His bounding energy is infectious and he always has a desire to push the boundaries. He is a great team player and is always willing to share his knowledge and experience to develop and mentor others.

Contract development role, building and integrating a number of internal line of business applications. Initially a 6 month contract, but extended to 15 months to work on other projects. Development was primarily C#, with an Angular UI, all deployed to the Azure cloud platform. The project made use of Azure functions, SQL Azure, Azure storage and Data Factory. Azure DevOps with ARM templates were used for reproducible application and platform build pipelines and deployments. The project teams followed a typical SCRUM methodology, implementing unit and integration tests as well as using Specflow for API and UI end to end testing. The last 4 weeks of the contract were conducted with full remote working.

At Ordinii, I was responsible for the development of the suite of restaurant mobile point of sale applications. Ordinii use a variety of technologies including Java, Xamarin and Google cloud services such as endpoints, Firebase messaging and Google cloud storage. One technical goal from the inception of Ordinii was to aggressively limit the amount of on-site physical infrastructure and host or consume all required services in the cloud. This still holds true today and allows our team to have a full focus on the development of the product, producing very rapid iterations.
